IPL
IPL/Intense Pulse Light also known as photofacial (photo rejuventation). In simple terms, the light from the IPL targets damaged cells. (freckles, liver spots and age spots, known as hyperpigmentation). Then the light pulls these damaged cells to the surface, and over the course of 48 hours they get darker. In some cases the darker spots can resemble little coffee grounds. Immediately following the treatment the skin can appear pink for up to 24 hours. It can take up to 10 days for these darker spots to slough off, and up to 21 days to completely see your full result. By changing the setting on the hand piece this treatment can also treat redness (rosacea, flushing, broken capillaries) caused by sun damage, alcohol, and spicy foods. This setting aims toward those little vessels and gives the face a calmer more even skin tone.
This treatment is not only great for face but can be treated to the body as well. Popular areas are face, neck, chest, arms, and hands. Treatments are spaced every 3 weeks for face and every 6 weeks for body. Everyone is different, so the treatment plan varies from person to person. On average it can take anywhere from 2 – 6 treatments depending on the severity. However, after just one treatment you will see a significant change in the skin.
