The arm lift procedure, or “brachioplasty,” is performed to reduce excess skin and fat deposits that result from aging or massive weight loss in the upper arms. The incision extends from the elbow to the underarm, and sometimes to the side of the chest.
Arm lift surgery can be performed on a variety of patients, including patients of normal weight who would like minor tightening. However, the majority of arm lift patients have lost a significant amount of weight and stabilized their weight loss. Swelling and tingling are common side effects that will resolve within several days.
