Laser Hair Removal is a procedure that reduces the growth of unwanted hair using specially designed lasers. In general, the effectiveness of medical lasers depends on the characteristics of the target. In hair reduction, the target is melanin. Melanin makes the hair darker. So, for effective hair reduction, lasers that are absorbed by melanin are chosen. Gray or blonde hair is usually not treatable. Our hair grows in several different stages, therefore you will need anywhere from 3 to 10 treatments depending on the area being treated. These are done in intervals of 4 to 8 weeks.

Prospective patients should avoid tanning at least two weeks prior and after a treatment.  There may be mild discomfort during treatment, but most patients tolerate laser hair removal easily. Following the treatment you can return to normal activity right away, but the area may appear to be a bit red or swollen. This reaction can stay up to 48 hours. It will take up to 2 weeks for the hair to shed. Between treatments you should not tweeze or wax hair, but it is permissible to shave.
