You will be absolutely amazed how KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid) injection works. It is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness, also referred to as “double chin”.
Who should not receive KYBELLA®?
If you have an infection in the area that will be treated you should not receive KYBELLA®.
You and Dr. Schmelzer will design a custom treatment plan tailored specifically to help you improve your chin profile. During your treatment sessions, Dr. Schmelzer will administer KYBELLA® into the fat under your chin using multiple injections.
How soon do results show?
This can vary with each different patient. You can receive up to 6 treatment sessions spaced no less than one month apart.

In Phase III of a a clinical development program which involved more than 20 clinical studies with over 2,600 patients of which 1,600 were treated with KYBELLA®:
- 68.2% of patients experienced greater than or equal to a 1-grade improvement with KYBELLA®, compared to 20.5% of patients who responded to placebo, based on measurements validated by the physician and patient.

How many treatments will I need?
You and your doctor will customize your KYBELLA® treatment regimen, including how many treatments you need, based on your desired chin profile. During these sessions, your doctor will administer KYBELLA® into the fat under your chin using multiple injections. Up to 6 treatment sessions may be administered spaced no less than one month apart.
- In clinical studies, results for KYBELLA®-treated patients who had a ≥1-grade composite improvement were 8% (1 treatment), 28% (2 treatments), 43% (3 treatments), 55% (4 treatments), 66% (5 treatments) and 72% (6 treatments)

How long will the results last?
When injected into the fat under your chin, KYBELLA® causes the reduction of fat cells. Once reduced, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment with KYBELLA® is not expected.
